Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz is set to start the season without starting power forward Tornike Shengelia, who will be sidelined for six weeks due to a knee problem, the club announced Wednesday.
Shengelia (2.06 meters, 24 years old) has a cyst in his left meniscus. As such, Shengelia will miss the first half of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season. He will follow a conservative treatment supervised by Laboral’s medical team.
Shengelia is in his second season with Laboral. He averaged 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds in 24 Euroleague games last season.
