Richard Parsons named Clippers interim CEO

Former Citigroup and Time Warner chairman Richard Parsons has been named as the interim CEO of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Parsons is currently a senior advisor at Providence Equity Partners and sits on the board of directors for the Commission on Presidential Debates. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Clippers.

“Like most Americans, I have been deeply troubled by the pain the Clippers’ team, fans and partners have endured,” said Parsons. “A lifelong fan of the NBA, I am firmly committed to the values and principles it is defending, and I completely support Adam’s [Silver] leadership in navigating the challenges facing the team and the league.”

Laboral Kutxa reported to Shengelia?

Georgian Tornike Shengelia is reportedly in talks to sign with Liga Endesa side Laboral Kutxa next season.

Shengelia was waived by the Chicago Bulls last month, only averaging 1 point in 45 games played.

Blassingame to strike

Cibona guard Jerel Blassingame will be going on strike and sitting out the remaining few weeks of the Croatian season due to missed payments, according to Israeli journalist David Pick.

Cibona recently won the Adriatic League by beating rivals Cedevita Zagreb in the Final. It is also reported that Blassingame will listen to offers from Russian and Turkey.

Bologna’s Hardy to have hand surgery

Virtus Bologna guard Dwight Hardy is set to have surgery on his right hand, which will rule him out for the remainder of the season.

The club are interested though in keeping him for another year. His contract expires in June.
