LeBron James sent Austin Reaves followers skyrocketing

Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has revealed how a social media post from LeBron James caused a major increase in his online following.

During a conversation involving James and former NBA star Steve Nash, Reaves recalled the moment his social media account received an unexpected surge in attention after James shared a post about him.

According to Reaves, his follower count increased from approximately 60,000 to around seven million following the post.

“I remember he posted that after the game, and my followers went from like 60,000 to like 7 million”

James responded by joking about the sudden attention Reaves received and how quickly his phone battery must have drained from the notifications.

“I’m sorry, man. Your phone died fast as hell, mind you.”

Reaves then explained where he was when he noticed the activity on his phone.

The Lakers guard said he was in Philadelphia, having a meal with Reeds, when he checked his phone and realized something unusual was happening.

“We were in Philly. I was out eating with Reeds, and I picked up my phone and I just set it back down. I was like, ‘I don’t even know what’s going on.’”

The sudden increase in attention caught Reaves by surprise, and he admitted that he initially struggled to understand what had caused it.

James continued joking about his role in the situation, acknowledging the impact his post had on his teammate’s social media account.

“Goddamn, my bad. That was cool, though.”

Nash, who was also part of the conversation, reacted to the story by praising the moment.

“Amazing clip.”
