TalkBasket.net is an independent basketball news site covering the game worldwide: the NBA, EuroLeague, EuroCup and Basketball Champions League, FIBA national-team competitions, and domestic leagues across Europe, along with interviews, analysis and the latest transfer news.
Our story
TalkBasket started in 2006 as a forum that quickly became a meeting place for English-speaking basketball fans from around the world. Its success led to the launch of the news site in 2007, with one goal: to give fans everywhere the latest news from every corner of the basketball world.
In 2008, TalkBasket.net became an official media partner of EuroLeague. At the London 2012 Olympic Games, we were one of the few independent basketball websites to receive accreditation. We are also a media partner of FIBA.
Over the years, our reporters have covered EuroLeague Final Fours, EuroBaskets, FIBA Basketball World Cups and the NBA Europe Games, and our audience has grown across the site and our X and Facebook pages.
We’re a small team of basketball fans and writers who share a love for the game, and we’re grateful to every reader who has been part of the journey.
Our editorial standards
Sourcing. We report news from clubs, leagues, federations, players, coaches and agents, and from other media outlets. When a story is based on another outlet’s reporting, we name and link to the original source. Rumours and transfer talk are reported as rumours, clearly attributed, never as confirmed fact.
Interviews. Quotes in our interviews are what was said to our reporters. We may shorten or tidy quotes for clarity, but we never change their meaning.
Independence. Our media partnerships give us access to events and interviews; they don’t give anyone a say over what we write. Advertising never influences our news coverage.
