Anthony Edwards fears ex will gamble child support

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has expressed concerns that his former partner, Alexandria Desroches, could spend child support payments on online sports gambling, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Edwards alleged that Desroches placed bets through DraftKings dozens of times per month during 2025 while arguing that the financial support she received was insufficient.

The NBA guard also claimed that Desroches failed to disclose certain income, including cash tips from a second job, and overstated expenses related to their child.

Edwards was previously ordered to pay $14,000 per month in child support. He has now requested that part of those payments be placed into a trust, with a trustee overseeing how the money is distributed.

Desroches rejected his concerns and criticized Edwards’ involvement in their son’s life. She alleged that he has never met the child in person, has not requested parenting time and may not have sent him any gifts.

She acknowledged using DraftKings but said her bets were typically around $10 and were “placed out of boredom,” adding that she has since stopped gambling on the platform.

According to Desroches, her DraftKings records showed a net amount of $998.20 for 2025.

Edwards and Desroches share a son, Amir, who was born in 2023.

The Timberwolves star also recently concluded a separate legal dispute with Ayesha Howard, with whom he shares a daughter.
