Unicaja Malaga defeated Barcelona at home (78-73) and climbed to the second place in the standings.

It was a late thriller in Malaga, as Barcelona came back from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter and attempted to “steal” the victory.

The hosts were in front by 12 (70-58), but the visitors went on a 6-15 run and cut the deficit to three (76-73). Giorgi Shermadini scored a two-pointer, though, and helped Unicaja seal the deal.

Kyle Wiltjer led the winners with 14 points, as Mathias Lessort added 12.

On the other hand, Adam Hanga and Victor Claver scored 12 points apiece for the losing squad, with Thomas Heurtel having eight points and 14 assists.

Unicaja Malaga improved to 9-3, whereas Barcelona dropped to 10-2.
