The head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, Taylor Jenkins, had high praise for the Minnesota Timberwolves, after his team won the first-round playoff series (4-2).

Jenkins said these were ‘unbelievably intense six games’ between the Grizzlies and the Timberwolves, calling Minnesota the ‘ultimate competitors’.

“First off, before I answer that question, I mean, what a heck of a series. Unbelievably intense six games. I want to applaud and give a lot of credit to (Timberwolves Head Coach) Chris Finch and his coaching staff to his team, a deep team with a lot of talent.

Ultimate competitors. Both teams got better from this series. Obviously, someone’s got to win at the end of the day, but tons of respect for those guys, how they compete.

Again, tip of my cap to Coach Finch, all of his coaches, the players, I mean, I said, ‘you have a very bright future.’ You know, (Anthony) Edwards, (D’Angelo) Russell, (Karl-Anthony) Towns, the veteran depth, guys coming off the bench. They got a really bright future,” Jenkins told media after Game 6.

The Grizzlies now have their sights set on the semi-fial series with the Golden State Warriors, with Game 1 taking place on Sunday afternoon.
