The Washington Wizards have signed forward/center Skal Labissiere to an Exhibit 10 contract, waiving Akoldah Gak in a corresponding roster move.
Labissiere, 28, spent part of the 2024–25 season with the Stockton Kings in the G League, averaging 15.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
The Haitian-born forward appeared in four games for Sacramento last season and has played 152 career NBA contests, posting 7.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game with a 49.2% shooting rate.
Originally the 28th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, Labissiere was traded immediately to the Kings and later had stints with Portland and Sacramento.
His most productive NBA season came in 2016–17, when he averaged 8.8 points and 4.9 rebounds in 33 games for Sacramento.
Labissiere also has limited playoff experience, appearing in three games off the bench for Portland in 2019.
This signing follows a four-team G League trade that sent Labissiere’s returning player rights from the Stockton Kings to the Capital City Go-Go, part of a deal that brought Jayden Hardaway to Stockton.
Washington’s roster now includes veterans like Khris Middleton, CJ McCollum, and Corey Kispert, with Labissiere providing size and athleticism behind players such as Marvin Bagley III and Alex Sarr.
