Former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas defended his decision to rank LeBron James ahead of Michael Jordan on his all-time NBA list, acknowledging that placing Jordan second would likely draw criticism from basketball fans.
Arenas, who has frequently discussed the greatest players in NBA history, explained that he considers James the more complete player because of his combination of scoring ability, playmaking, and overall impact on the game.
The former Washington Wizards star compared James to two of basketball’s greatest players, suggesting that the four-time NBA champion possesses the passing and court vision of Magic Johnson alongside Jordan’s offensive abilities.
“LeBron James is Magic Johnson with Michael Jordan ability. There’s no one that can say in the 24 years of his career, he went into a season and he failed.”
