Jazz decline Isaiah Collier’s $4.99 million option

The Utah Jazz will decline their $4.99 million team option on Isaiah Collier for the 2027-28 season, Michael Scotto reported Monday, November 2, citing league sources. The decision will make the 22-year-old guard an unrestricted free agent after the current season.

Collier is in the third year of a four-year, $12.9 million rookie contract. Utah’s decision means the team will not exercise the final season of the deal, allowing him to enter free agency rather than remain under contract for 2027-28.

The point guard has averaged 9.9 points, 6.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 136 career NBA games across three seasons, adding 1.0 steals per contest. He has started 65 games and averaged 25.5 minutes per appearance.

Collier recorded 8.7 points and 6.3 assists in 71 games during his rookie season in 2024-25. He improved to 11.7 points and 7.2 assists in 59 appearances in 2025-26, shooting 49.5% from the field.

His role has changed this season. Collier has come off the bench in all six games, averaging 7.5 points, 5.7 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 18.5 minutes per game. He is shooting 36.8% from the field and has yet to make a three-pointer, going 0-for-8 from beyond the arc.

Utah is 1-5 through six games in 2026-27. Keyonte George leads the Jazz with 21.7 points and 6.3 assists per game, while Collier ranks second on the team in assists.

Scotto reported that Collier will be a coveted unrestricted free agent. His current contract runs through the 2026-27 season, after which he will be eligible to sign with another team.
