Jordan Poole continued his hot streak, scoring 30 points to lead the Washington Wizards to a decisive 125-107 win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
The Wizards, now 6-25, earned their largest margin of victory this season, buoyed by seven players scoring in double figures. Poole, who hit six 3-pointers, showcased his ability to carry the offensive load for Washington, a team looking for bright spots in an otherwise challenging season.
Rookie center Alex Sarr recorded his first double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Kyshawn George added a key spark off the bench, opening a pivotal 7-0 fourth-quarter run with a 3-pointer and capping it with a steal and dunk that gave Washington a commanding 104-84 lead.
Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 32 points in his return after missing Monday’s game due to toe soreness. Coby White contributed 17 points, and Nikola Vucevic posted 12 points and 13 rebounds. Despite these efforts, the Bulls committed 20 turnovers and struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 14 of their 47 attempts (29.8%).
Washington’s 49.5% shooting from the field and 47.2% from 3-point range underscored an efficient offensive night. Malcolm Brogdon added 12 points and six assists, while Jonas Valanciunas contributed 14 points and six rebounds.
For Chicago (15-19), the loss prevented them from gaining momentum as they missed a chance to move closer to .500.
The Wizards remain last in the Eastern Conference standings but have shown signs of improvement with their recent performances.
