As 41-year-old LeBron James continues to do well, conversations about the greatest of all time often come up, especially when compared with Michael Jordan.
Jordan played for the Washington Wizards for two NBA seasons, from 2001 to 2003, after serving as the team’s president of basketball operations and a minority owner.
Meanwhile, Nick Young said that 38-year-old Jordan is not as impressive as LeBron James, who is still majorly contributing to a team.
“It’s hard to say it wasn’t impressive what Jordan was doing at 38 but I can see where he is coming from because LeBron James is taking it to a whole another level playing at 42 years old,” Young said during his appearance in Gil’s Arena.
In Gilbert Arenas’ podcast, they also discussed old players who excel despite their age, but Young urged not to compare James and Jordan in their late years.
“Karl Malone won MVP at 36. He played on the Wizards they was doormats…. Please don’t compare what LeBron is doing to Jordan on the Wizards. Just don’t compare them. Can’t compare them to 38 Wizards them games didn’t mean nothing they was like celebrity games to him,” he added.
In 2001, the six-time NBA champion officially announced his return to the court and resigned from his postion being the team’s president and sold his ownership shares back to Washington.
