Jordan Poole is talking about where he came from and whom he looked up to.
Four-time champion Stephen Curry has committed to remaining with the Golden State Warriors by agreeing to a two-year, $116 million contract extension.
Meanwhile, Poole was asked about Steph Curry signing his contract extension at his New Orleans Pelicans media day presser.
“Steph’s one of the greatest players to play in our league, and he’s one of the, if not, the greatest shooter. You know, work ethic, the situation that he’s kind of been able to grow in, learn in, be groomed in, stay over there in Golden State for I think it’s, I don’t know, 15-16 years or however long he’s been playing,” Poole said.
The former Warriors guard saw how Curry values team chemistry and his game after four seasons in Golden State.
“He has a sense of familiarity with the guys, and he’s just a hardworker, and I think his game speaks for itself. And it helps that he’s been able to be a little bit comfortable, play the game and get comfortable with the system and the guys around him in the front office,” he added.
Poole also recalled how the sharpshooter has been a mentor to him, and admired Curry for influencing today’s game.
“That’s the big homie, so I’ll reach out if I need anything, and we have conversations and stuff and chop it up over the season and course of the summer. But you know, tremendous guy, hadworker, tremendous athlete and one of the best to play our game,” Poole explained.
Poole is a major contributor to the Warriors’ championship campaign, especially during the 2022 Finals against the Boston Celtics.
