Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ty Jerome thought rookie Cameron Boozer had an unbelievable preseason debut during Monday’s 132-123 road win vs. the Atlanta Hawks (11 points/3 offensive rebounds/2 defensive rebounds/4 assists/2 steals/5-9 FG/0-3 3-PT/1-3 FT/+5 +/- in 18 minutes as a starter).

Rob Fischer: “You’ve talked about the new playmakers, added playmakers on the floor with you. 12 points, 5 assists tonight for you. How does that change your game or even make it easier?”
Jerome: “Yeah, I mean… I think the first one I’mma talk about is Booz, man. He was unbelievable today. The poise he has at that age is just huge. Him being able to dribble, pass, and shoot next to me — it’s like I’ve got another point guard next to me almost at 6-10. So it’s cool, man. It’s good.”
