Tyler Herro led the Miami Heat with 32 points, helping them secure a 119-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night. Herro overcame a slow start from beyond the arc, hitting five straight threes at one point, to lead Miami to their 17th win of the season.
Bam Adebayo was instrumental in the victory, finishing with 23 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists, narrowly missing a triple-double. Duncan Robinson contributed 17 points, while Jimmy Butler returned from illness to add nine points, four rebounds, and two assists in 25 minutes.
Trey Murphy III was the standout for the Pelicans, scoring 34 points on 11-of-24 shooting. CJ McCollum added 22 points and five assists, but New Orleans never led in the game and suffered their 29th loss in the last 32 contests. The Pelicans are now 1-20 in their last 21 games and extended their road losing streak to 15 games.
Miami shot 53% from the field and 41.2% from three, capitalizing on their offensive efficiency to fend off the Pelicans.
New Orleans struggled to generate momentum without key players like Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, who remain sidelined due to injuries.
Miami got valuable minutes from Nikola Jovic, who recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and six assists off the bench. Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 12 points in another solid outing.
The Heat (17-14) will look to build on this momentum as they face the Brooklyn Nets in their next game. The Pelicans (5-29), meanwhile, aim to end their losing streak when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
