After 13 remarkable years, Klay Thompson bids farewell to the Golden State Warriors as he embarks on a new journey with the Dallas Mavericks.
Thompson, the 34-year-old sharpshooter, expressed his gratitude on Instagram for his time in the Bay Area.
In a heartfelt message, Thompson thanked Warriors fans for their unwavering support and shared his deep connection with the team.
“Oh Bay Area, there are not enough words and images to convey how I really feel about yall,” Thompson wrote.
Reflecting on his career, Thompson emphasized the friendships made and the cherished memories as the true highlights of his tenure.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for the best times of my life. It was such an honor to put that Dubs jersey on from day 1,” Thompson added.
Thompson’s departure marks the end of an era for the Warriors, who benefited greatly from his sharpshooting and leadership.
“I really just wanted to be the best I could be and help bring as many championships as possible to the region,” Thompson said.
“The best part was not the rings though, it was the friendships I made that will last a lifetime,” he shared.
Thompson’s move to the Mavericks signifies a new chapter in his illustrious career, bringing his talent to Dallas.
“My family and I would like to thank all of the amazing people who work tirelessly to make the @warriors organization world-class,” Thompson mentioned.
