The Milwaukee Bucks are exploring trade options for veteran center Brook Lopez, according to recent reports.

NBA insider Gery Woelfel tweeted that sources indicate the Bucks remain open to trading Lopez, but they are setting a high asking price.

“Sources claim the Bucks are still very receptive to trading veteran Brook Lopez, but the Bucks’ asking price of a first-round draft pick for a 36-year-old center with a $23M contract is too rich,” Woelfel reported.

Last season, Lopez averaged 12.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 30.5 minutes per game.

Lopez has been a pivotal figure for the Bucks over the past six seasons, contributing significantly to their success, including their championship victory in 2020-21.

However, with Lopez entering the final year of his contract and turning 37 during the upcoming season, the Bucks are considering future roster adjustments.

The 7-foot center’s experience and defensive prowess make him an attractive asset for teams seeking veteran leadership and interior presence.

Despite his age, Lopez continues to be a reliable scorer and shot blocker, making him a valuable addition for playoff contenders.
