TyTy Washington scored a career-high 21 points to lead LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne to a 94-79 EuroLeague victory over Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz on Friday, October 30. ASVEL secured its second win of the double-game week and improved to 4-5, while Baskonia fell to 1-8.

Washington set the tone in the first half, scoring 16 points while shooting 7-of-7 on two-point attempts and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. He finished with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists, posting a game-high 29 performance index rating (PIR).

ASVEL opened the game with a 26-16 first-quarter advantage and extended its lead to 49-39 at halftime. Baskonia cut the deficit to six points in the third quarter, but Patty Mills responded with two important three-pointers to restore a double-digit margin.

Mills took over offensively in the second half and finished with 20 points, making five of seven attempts from three-point range. Bruno Fernando added 15 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from two-point range, while Hugo Besson scored 10. Jae Crowder contributed nine points and five assists as ASVEL recorded 24 assists and had all 11 players who appeared score at least two points.

ASVEL also continued its strong ball movement, entering the game as the EuroLeague’s leading team with 21.6 assists per contest. The hosts made 12 of 26 three-point attempts (46.2%), compared with Baskonia’s four makes on 22 attempts (18.2%).

Baskonia was limited to nine available players because of injuries, according to the supplied game report. Kenneth Faried led the visitors with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Marcio Santos added 13 points and five rebounds. The Spanish side’s 18.2% accuracy from three-point range made it difficult to keep pace with ASVEL’s offense.

The victory gave ASVEL consecutive EuroLeague wins after its earlier victory over Partizan. The French team hosts Bayern Munich on Thursday, November 5, while Baskonia visits Fenerbahce on the same day.
