The game Olympiakos – Panathinaikos postponed and many questions arise about the future of Greek Basketball.

The score was so close in the first five minutes ( 8-11) and  nice play for Lavrio made it 12-21. Kolossos made an attempt to decrease the distance in the last minutes of the first quarter. Lavrio was better in the start of the second quarter and led by 13 points in the last minutes ( 32-45) , but Kolossos Rodes answered with Pinkston points ( 36-47). Slaven Cupkovic made a great performance mainly in the third quarter and he scored a lot of points ( 61-62), but Lavrio was in the lead by 8 points ( 51-59) in the end of the third quarter. Cupkovic kept the pace and he scored a lot of points in the fourth quarter too, but the great performance of Serbian wasn’t enough for Kolossos Rodes to win the match ( 76-80).

Kolossos H Hotels B. C.(13th place) will travel to Athens to play against KAE Panathinaikos B. C.(1st place)* next week, whereas Lavrio Aegean Cargo B. C.(10th place) will host Peristeri Bikos Cola B. C.(6th place) in the 20th gameweek. 

Rethymno Cretan Kings B. C.(14th place) – Panionios B. C. (12th place): 65-72 

Quarters:24-19, 43-35, 59-58, 65-72

Venue: Melina Merkouri Sports Arena

Referees : Manos – Andrikopoulos – Maglogiannis

MVP: Davon Berry

Panionios won a very difficult and significant match over Rethymno. The hosts from Crete was in the lead until the end of the third quarter ( 65-72). But the outstanding performance of Steven Burtt Jr with 34 points wasn’t enough for Rethymno. The players from Cretan had no score in the last minutes of the match and Panionios made an 14-0 in a row. Davion Berry scored 30 points and he was very useful for the team from Athens. Panionios finally won 65- 72 and Rethymno stays in the last place of the Basetleague. The nightmare of relegation is near for the Cretans.

Paok B. C. (5th place) – Ifaistos Limnou B.C. (7th place) : 73-75

Hfaistos Limnou was better in a halftime than Paok, but Paok coach Ilias Papatheodorou woke up his players and the score was so close in a halftime ( 38-40). Paok tried to equalized the match, but Hfaistos was in the lead again in the end of the third quarter ( 48-54). Roland Freimanis buzzer beater gave the valuable win to Hfaistos Limnou in the end of the match ( 73-75)

Kymi was in the lead with 7 points in the first quarter ( 17-24). Kymi was better than Aek in the first quarter and a 3p from Saggs made a ( 24-36). Aek woke up and BCL holders made an 22-0 run ( 46-36). Aek was in the lead in a halftime ( 48-37). Kymi made a great performance mainly with JeQuan Lewis and Chris Horton, but Aek won the match by 4 points ( 96-92). The score is very high for Basketlegue standards.

Peristeri Bikos Cola B. C.(6th place) – Aris Thessalonikis B. C.(9th place) :81-61

Peristeri had a great start with 8-2, but Aris equalized the match ( 10-10). In the first quarter Peristeri led by 9 points ( 26-17). Peristeri was in the match and finally won the match by 20 points ( 81-61) and Aris made the last attempt to equalize the match in the third quarter. Aris Thessalonikis needs to start from scratch next year, because this year wasn’t good for team from Thessaloniki.
