AEK Athens hosted Aris Thessaloniki for the 11th gameweek of the Greek Basketleague. In the first quarter Aris, with Vladimir Dragisevic scoring points mainly, he tried to be remain competitive.

The team, which coached by Ilias Papatheodorou, achieved to score many points with pick and roll. The hosts led by 4 points (19-15) at the end of the first quarter.

Although AEK made an attempt to increase the margin with Keith Langford and Howard Sant-Roos (30-17), Aris tried to resist thanks to Dragisevic and Gecevicius. Many 3-pointers and a lot of lay ups helped Aris decrease the deficit to 40-38 at halftime.

Aris tied the match (46-46), but AEK, with Langford and Sant-Roos, led by 12 points at the end of the third quarter (66-54).

When AEK led by 17 points, Aris scored 5/7 3-pointers. AEK retained control and remained in front (78-73). Langford and Gkikas answered for the hosts and Papatheodorou’s team finally won Aris (92-79).
