It’s been twenty years since Jordan Brand’s first venture into mainland China, earlier this week it celebrates with a new store location in Beijing.

It solidifies that the brand are going from strength to strength, it seems. Even with the ever growing threat of Adidas, led by the infamous Yeezy sneakers.

The grand opening of Jordan 9 Guanghua, will serve as a key source for pinnacle products and personalised Jordan experiences.

The space features work by international artist Jayson Atienza, hyperlocal product customization, a regulation size basketball court, Flight Club services and Flight Lab testing.

“With its unique basketball and sneaker culture, Beijing is a natural fit for the brand’s presence in China,” Jordan Brand President Larry Miller told Nike.

“We are excited to bring Jordan Brand’s vision to life in Beijing by creating a retail experience that not only pays homage to the brand’s legacy and the city’s culture, but also inspires the future.”

Coincidentally the grand opening of Jordan 9 has come in the middle of Dwayne Wade’s tour of China with Li-Ning, as the Chicago Bulls star promotes the sixth edition of his shoe line.

The Way of Wade 6 has already been labelled as his best shoe yet by many sneaker gurus.
