Dubai Basketball defeated Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv 97-83 at Coca-Cola Arena on Friday, October 30, moving to 6-3 in the EuroLeague regular season. Filip Petrusev led the hosts with 20 points, while Elie Okobo scored 18 and Dwayne Bacon added 17.
Dubai took control with a 12-0 run after falling behind 22-19 at the end of the first quarter. The hosts led 45-40 at halftime and extended the margin to 74-60 after three quarters before both teams scored 23 points in the final period.
Petrusev was perfect from two-point range, making all six of his attempts, and added eight free throws on nine attempts. McKinley Wright contributed 12 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Okobo recorded five assists and Bacon finished with five rebounds.
Dubai’s defensive effort was particularly effective against Elijah Bryant, who entered the game averaging 15.0 points and a 24.0 performance index rating (PIR). The three-time MVP of the Round finished with just three points on 1-of-8 shooting and a -6 PIR.
Wright applied pressure on the perimeter, while Toko Shengelia and Mfiondu Kabengele helped Dubai defend Hapoel’s actions through aggressive switching.
Hapoel had six players score at least nine points, led by Vasilije Micic with 15. Dan Oturu added 14, while Tai Odiase and Ish Wainright scored 11 apiece. However, Hapoel shot 48% on two-pointers and committed six turnovers, compared with Dubai’s eight.
The game was interrupted by a concerning incident midway through the third quarter, when Tomas Satoransky fell while contesting a rebound and hit the back of his head on the floor. Both coaches addressed the guard’s condition after the game.
Dubai coach Xavi Pascual said Satoransky’s health was the priority, while Hapoel coach Dimitris Itoudis said he had been informed that the player was conscious and had full control of his body. Neither coach provided a confirmed diagnosis or return timeline in the supplied comments.
The result left both teams at 6-3 after nine EuroLeague games. Hapoel stood sixth in the standings, with Dubai in eighth place.
Dubai’s next EuroLeague game is against Virtus Bologna next Friday, November 6. Hapoel hosts Barcelona on Thursday, November 5.
