Real Madrid routs Fenerbahce behind Theo Maledon’s 26 points

Real Madrid defeated Fenerbahce Tarfin Istanbul 95-76 on Thursday at Movistar Arena, using a dominant defensive third quarter and Theo Maledon’s 26-point performance to secure its sixth consecutive victory in all competitions.

Maledon finished with 26 points, seven rebounds and two assists, earning a game-high performance index rating of 35. Facundo Campazzo added 10 points and 10 assists, while Walter Tavares contributed 14 points and five rebounds as Real improved to 6-3 in the EuroLeague.

Fenerbahce initially matched the hosts, taking a 24-22 lead after the opening quarter. Talen Horton-Tucker scored 16 points in the first half, keeping the visitors within reach despite Campazzo’s playmaking and Real’s offensive runs.

The Spanish side moved ahead before halftime, taking a 47-42 advantage into the break. Real then created the decisive separation in the third quarter, holding Fenerbahce to just 13 points while scoring 23 of its own.

Andres Feliz, Gabriele Procida, Alberto Abalde and Chuma Okeke all contributed to the defensive effort and connected from three-point range during the period. Their production helped Real extend its lead to 16 points entering the final quarter.

Fenerbahce attempted to respond through Will Clyburn, who finished with 21 points and four rebounds, but Maledon took over offensively in the fourth. The French guard scored 10 points in the final period, preventing the visitors from mounting a serious comeback.

Real also benefited from strong contributions across its rotation. Abalde scored eight points, Feliz added eight, and Okeke finished with six points and seven rebounds. Tavares went 5-of-6 from two-point range, while Maledon made 11 of his 12 free throws.

Fenerbahce struggled from beyond the arc, converting just seven of 33 attempts (21.2%), compared with Real’s 11-of-32 (34.4%). The visitors also committed 19 turnovers, four more than the hosts.

Real Madrid hosts Panathinaikos next Wednesday, while Fenerbahce welcomes Baskonia on Thursday.
