Taj Gibson is returning to the Chicago Bulls, this time beginning a new chapter on the coaching staff.

The Bulls are hiring Gibson as an assistant coach after the veteran recently concluded a lengthy NBA playing career.

The move brings him back to the franchise where he spent the largest portion of his career.

Gibson played eight seasons for Chicago after entering the NBA and became a familiar presence in the Bulls’ frontcourt during his time with the organization.

Across 17 NBA seasons, Gibson averaged 8.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.

In addition to Chicago, he played for the Thunder, Timberwolves, Knicks, Wizards, Pistons, Hornets and Grizzlies.
