League signals around Michael Porter Jr. remain inconsistent ahead of the February 5 deadline, with no firm indication that Brooklyn is ready to move him.
At the same time, New Orleans has been telling teams it isn’t entertaining offers for Trey Murphy III or Herbert Jones.
Even so, sources tell Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints that Porter, Murphy, and Jones sit at the top of Golden State’s trade board.
One source summarized the mindset as, “They’re aiming high first, even if the odds are long.”
Siegel suggests Jonathan Kuminga would be the main salary piece in any push for Murphy, with the Warriors willing to attach two first-round picks.
Details around a Jones pursuit are far less clear, with no concrete framework yet emerging.
For Porter, Golden State appears more cautious. Early indications are the Warriors don’t want to include more than one first-rounder, especially since a deal would already feature Kuminga and Moses Moody.
Siegel notes the team is very open to moving Moody, with one insider saying, “They hoped for more growth by this point.”
It’s uncertain whether the Nets would accept that type of package, or even make Porter available.
Still, Siegel reports Porter could be Golden State’s top target if he can be acquired for Kuminga, Moody, Buddy Hield, and a first-round pick.
If those bigger swings fail, the Warriors are expected to pivot toward cheaper options, with Naji Marshall, Ayo Dosunmu, Daniel Gafford, and Bobby Portis mentioned as more attainable alternatives.
As one executive put it, “They’ll adjust fast if the top shelf stays closed.”
