NBA legend Charles Barkley has criticized former Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James for practicing a golf swing during the national anthem, describing his actions as disrespectful.
Barkley expressed his disappointment with James’ behavior, arguing that the national anthem deserves respect regardless of an individual’s personal views.
The former NBA MVP explained that he always stands during the anthem and believes it is an important tradition that should be taken seriously.
“I thought that was very disrespectful, practicing a golf swing in the middle of the anthem. I always stand for the anthem. I just think it’s important.
“We live in the greatest country ever where you can always protest, but I think you have to be very careful with the anthem.”
