Anthony Davis is set to become extension eligible this offseason, but signs are pointing toward an uncertain future with the Dallas Mavericks.

Reports indicate that Davis’ representatives at Klutch Sports Group do not expect an extension agreement to materialize, which could push Dallas to seriously explore trade options before next month’s deadline.

Rich Paul, the player’s agent, has reportedly urged the Mavericks to be more active in assessing the trade market.

While there is no indication of tension between Davis and the organization, it appears increasingly unlikely that he views Dallas as a long-term home.

From the Mavericks’ side, there is no rush to make a move.

The team remains open to listening to offers but would prefer to see how things develop once Kyrie Irving returns and is able to play alongside Davis and rookie Cooper Flagg before committing to a major decision.
