Jordan Hawkins: I didn’t take full advantage of my opportunity in New Orleans

Memphis Grizzlies shooting guard Jordan Hawkins looked back at his time with the New Orleans Pelicans during 2026 Media Day (shot 34.8% from three in 174 games played).

“I was talking to my college coach [Dan Hurley] the other day actually and he was just telling me like, ‘Going into New Orleans, like a new situation from college, it’s tough for anybody just coming into the league.’ But honestly, I didn’t take full advantage of the opportunity that I had in New Orleans, and that just wasn’t to my standard. So just know continue to work hard and stay in the gym and just being in the league going into my fourth year, just taking all what I’ve learned and know it’s just not about the shooting. Well, the shooting’s a big part of it. Just playing on both ends of the floor and just being a factor on the court without being able to shoot or score the ball, that’s probably like the biggest thing I’ve learned.”
