Minnesota Timberwolves’ rising star Anthony Edwards took full responsibility for his team’s Game 3 loss against the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference semifinals.

Despite leading the Timberwolves with 19 points, Edwards admitted to a lackluster performance, citing a lack of energy as a key factor in the defeat.

In a postgame statement, Edwards expressed accountability, saying, “It’s on me, I’ll take the blame for this loss. I came out with no energy at all. I can’t afford to do that for my team. I let my team down, the fans down,” as reported by Dane Moore.

While crediting the Nuggets for their strong play, Edwards remained optimistic, emphasizing the team’s resilience and determination to bounce back in the series.

He added, “They played well, man. They’re the defending champs. We didn’t expect it to be easy. This is what we wanted, it’s fun.”

As the series moves forward, Edwards remains focused on the bigger picture, maintaining a positive outlook and reaffirming the team’s commitment to regaining momentum.

He concluded, “There’s no reason to be negative. They won one game, we’re gonna try to win the next game. It’s the first to four games, it’s not the first to one. If it was first one to one, we’d have already won the series. We’ll be alright.”
