Former NBA star Jamal Crawford heaped praise on Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic ahead of the NBA Finals where the Mavs will take on the Boston Celtics.

“Luka’s a gangster,” Crawford said on Bully Ball podcast, prompting laughs from DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas. “I mean that in the most respectful way. What Luka’s seen, where he came from Slovenia. Luka is really like that.

“And these guys will tell you because, like I said, they were this. We know in the league there’s some real like, dawgs and there’s some dawgs that are dawgs when it’s like, okay, they kind of puppies a little bit, they aren’t really dawgs like that.

“Luka is a real dawg like, he’s going to get it. The bigger the moment, the bigger the play, the better Luka is. And even some greats don’t do that. So he’s different. And he’s playing like he got headphones on. You can’t speed him up. He’s just out here doing his thing… It’s his pace. But his pace can make you go his pace and then he just dissects you. He’s something different.”

Doncic has been instrumental in Mavericks journey to the Finals, including clutch performances in tight games such as dagger three-pointer over Rudy Gobert and trash talking him.

The Slovenian superstar is averaging 28.8 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists in 41.5 minutes per game in the playoffs.
