In a recent development, the Los Angeles Lakers have signaled their reluctance to part ways with guard Austin Reaves.

According to sources from both the team and the league, the Lakers are adamant about retaining Reaves, as reported by Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

This sentiment was evident during trade discussions, where Reaves was notably excluded from talks involving Dejounte Murray and Kyrie Irving.

Reaves has proven his value to the team with standout performances in the playoffs of 2023 and 2024, solidifying his compatibility alongside stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

During the previous season, Reaves showcased his versatility, averaging 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.

Having completed the first year of his four-year, $54 million contract, Reaves remains a vital asset in the Lakers’ lineup.
