The Los Angeles Lakers are intensifying their efforts in finding a new head coach following the dismissal of Darvin Ham. According to Lakers insider Jovan Buha, the team aims to secure a new coach before the NBA Draft.

Buha highlighted the significance of LeBron James’ impending decision regarding his player option, suggesting that the Lakers’ actions in the draft and subsequent roster upgrades could influence James’ future with the team.

With the NBA Draft approaching on June 26th, the Lakers have approximately six and a half to seven weeks to finalize their coaching decision, indicating a sense of urgency in their search.

Buha also revealed the Lakers’ intentions to leverage their draft assets, particularly the 17th pick, as part of potential trade deals aimed at enhancing the roster. Reportedly, the Purple and Gold have interest in drafting LeBron’s eldest son, Bronny.

As the NBA Draft draws nearer, all eyes will be on the Lakers as they navigate the crucial decisions ahead, including the appointment of a new head coach and potential roster moves to fortify their squad.
