The Philadelphia 76ers are matching the Utah Jazz’s three-year, $23MM offer sheet to Paul Reed, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

As noted by Wojnarowski, what Reed has obtained is an offer sheet filled with enticing details. The first year is only guaranteed, but the next two years ($15.7MM) will only get guaranteed should Philly reaches the Conference semifinals.

Reed, who is a restricted free agent, can only feel confident that he’ll be guaranteed following 2023-24 given the fact that the title-contending Sixers have been a frequent show-up in the East Semis six times since 2018 and are primed to compete moving forward.

With Reed now going back, Philly now has a logjammed backup center slate for Joel Embiid. Earlier this week, the club signed Mo Bamba and retained Montrezl Harrell.

Reed has emerged as the primary and reliable reserve for the reigning MVP, and this can only be highlighted by his 4.2 points and 3.8 boards average in 69 games last 2022-23 regular season.
