The Philadelphia 76ers have reached a $2.29 million qualifying offer on Paul Reed, per Mike Scotto of HoopsHype.

The move makes the big man a restricted free agent while allowing the club to match the offers that he will receive in the market.

Reed gradually improved in his third year for Philly, averaging 4.2 points and 3.8 assists for 69 games last 2022-2023 season. He was also solid in the team’s 11 playoff matches by tallying a much better 4.6 points and 5.5 boards.

An established backup big for reigning league MVP Joel Embiid, Philadelphia is determined to retain the young center.
