Panathinaikos has made a major move by signing Mathias Lessort to a two-year contract. Lessort, who had a standout season with Partizan, earning him All-EuroLeague First Team honors, brings his dominant presence to Athens.

During the previous season, the 27-year-old Frenchman averaged 12.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and an impressive 19.1 Performance Index Rating (PIR) across 38 games. Lessort joins Panathinaikos alongside other notable signings, including Luca Vildoza, Kostas Antetokounmpo, and Dimitris Moraitis, further strengthening the team’s roster under coach Ergin Ataman.

Lessort’s journey in the EuroLeague began with Crvena Zvezda in the 2017-18 season, and he has since gained valuable experience with Bayern and Maccabi. Partizan recognized his potential and secured his services, where he flourished under coach Zeljko Obradovic in the EuroCup before elevating his game to new heights in the EuroLeague.
