Kendrick Nunn scored 20 points and delivered the decisive basket late in the fourth quarter as Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens defeated Armani Olimpia Milan 80-75 on Tuesday, October 27, at Telekom Center Athens.
The 2024-25 EuroLeague MVP added six assists and recorded a performance index rating of 26, helping Panathinaikos improve to 7-1 and remain atop the 2026-27 standings. Milan fell to 1-7 after suffering its sixth consecutive defeat.
Nunn entered the game with 4:30 remaining in the first quarter, with Milan leading 12-10. He immediately changed the tempo, combining eight points and three assists to help Panathinaikos turn the deficit into a 36-25 advantage early in the second quarter.
The guard initially created opportunities for his teammates, setting up Mathias Lessort for two scores and finding Juancho Hernangomez for a three-pointer that gave the hosts their first lead. Nunn then added a dunk and a three-pointer, extending his streak of consecutive games with at least one made three to 34.
Milan responded after Nunn left the floor, producing a 21-4 run that bridged the second and third quarters. The visitors moved ahead 48-43, putting Panathinaikos under pressure before Nunn returned to the game.
He assisted Guerschon Yabusele on a corner three-pointer, then scored on a layup, completed a three-point play and converted two free throws to help Panathinaikos regain control. Nunn finished 4-of-6 on two-point attempts, 1-of-3 from three-point range and 9-of-11 at the free-throw line.
The game remained tight in the fourth quarter, with Milan staying within one possession. With 30 seconds remaining and Panathinaikos holding a one-point lead, Nunn drove to the basket and finished a layup off the glass to give the hosts crucial breathing room.
Lessort recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Hernangomez added 11 points. Yabusele contributed nine points and six rebounds as Panathinaikos finished with 38 rebounds and 18 assists.
Milan had 15 points from Devon Hall, while RJ Cole, Leandro Bolmaro, Darius Thompson and Devin Booker each added 10. Milan shot 8-of-30 from three-point range and finished with 13 turnovers. Milan shot 26.7% from three-point range, making eight of 30 attempts, and committed 13 turnovers.
Nunn’s performance was particularly significant because Tuesday marked only his second appearance of the season after he missed Panathinaikos’ first six games with a knee injury.
Panathinaikos will visit Anadolu Efes on Friday, October 30, while Milan travels to face defending EuroLeague champion Olympiacos on the same day.
