Los Angeles Lakers home court Staples Center will have a new name from late December after the team signed a 20-year deal with a cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com. The venue will be called Crypto.com Arena.
Russell Westbrook was asked to share his thoughts about the name change of the long-time Lakers home arena. “Honestly, the business side of basketball and how deals go down, obviously, we as players down know exactly what happens or how it goes down, we just see it like everybody else like we saw today not really knowing details of it,” he said after the loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
“Staples Center got so many great memories just from me as a kid growing up in LA. So many great things have happened in that building. Regardless of the name the building, it’s still the building. That’s what most important. That’s all you can think about.”
