Former NBA player Jonas Jerebko has committed to playing for the Swedish national team at the upcoming FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers.

“Its been awhile! Since I’m now a free agent I will be representing my country in the upcoming euro qualifiers. Proud and honored to represent Sweden once again,” Jerebko posted on Instagram.

Jerebko parted ways with Khimki last month and is currently a free agent.

The 33-year-old last represented Sweden at the FIBA EuroBasket 2013, where he averaged 16.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Sweden currently sits in third place at 1-3 in Group D with upcoming games against Turkey on Feb. 20 and Netherlands on Feb. 22.

In Group D, Croatia has already qualified for FIBA EuroBasket 2022, so if Sweden finishes either second or third in the group, they will also book their spot at the EuroBasket.
