The Sacramento Kings have brought back center Viktor Lakhin on a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract after previously waiving him earlier this month, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.

The move comes as Sacramento deals with several injuries to its frontcourt players ahead of the NBA regular season.

Maxime Raynaud has been ruled out for multiple weeks because of a knee injury, while Dylan Cardwell is also expected to miss at least two weeks due to a calf strain.

Sacramento’s injury concerns increased further on Tuesday when Precious Achiuwa exited the team’s preseason game early with a right ankle injury.

With several big men unavailable, the Kings have decided to bring Lakhin back to provide additional depth at center.

Lakhin went undrafted out of Clemson in 2025 and spent last season playing for the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League.

The 6-foot-11 center appeared in 31 games, averaging 10.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest.

His G League returning player rights were acquired by the Stockton Kings in August as part of a six-team trade that also sent Terry Taylor’s rights from the Iowa Wolves to the Austin Spurs.

Initially, Lakhin appeared likely to begin the upcoming season with Stockton, Sacramento’s G League affiliate.

Under the terms of an Exhibit 10 agreement, he could have earned a bonus of up to $91,000 by spending at least 60 days with the G League team.

However, Sacramento’s recent injuries have changed the situation and could give Lakhin an opportunity to remain with the NBA club.

The Kings currently have an open two-way contract spot, providing a potential path for Lakhin to secure a place on the roster before the regular season begins.

His immediate future could depend on the recovery of Sacramento’s injured frontcourt players and his performances during the remaining preseason games.
