New Philadelphia 76ers president Daryl Morey has denied the team is open to moving Ben Simmons as part of a trade package to get James Harden. “We are not trading Ben Simmons – he is an important part of our culture,” Morey stated bluntly last week.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst isn’t buying it, however, and brought Morey’s credibility into question during The Hoop Collective podcast on Monday.

“Daryl Morey in my view … he is not credible with what he says publicly about his trade intentions,” Windhorst says right after the 10th minute of the podcast. “So he comes out the other day and says ‘we’re not going to trade Ben Simmons.’ I do not find that credible.

“I’ve heard myself that Ben Simmons is available.”

The Athletic’s Shams Charania was the first to report the Sixers were willing to include Simmons in a possible trade for the former MVP. Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, both of ESPN, have made similar claims.
