Daryl Morey tweeted about James Harden a week ago in a since-deleted post. However, the NBA saw Morey’s action as tampering amid James Harden trade rumors.

As a result, Morey, who joined Philadelphia in the past offseason, was fined $50K for violating anti-tampering rules. The Sixers are considered among Harden’s preferred destinations along with Miami and Boston, according to several reports.

In a since-deleted tweet, Morey went down the memory lane, as Harden surpassed Calvin Murphy’s franchise assist record a year earlier.

After parting ways with the Houston Rockets, Morey was named the Sixers’ president of basketball operation. Since then, the veteran executive denied any rumors that claimed the franchise is willing to be involved in trade talks for James Harden.

Harden declared he wants out of Houston, after another disappointing playoff run that resulted in a second-round exit during the NBA restart on Orlando, Florida.
