The Phoenix Suns won a crucial road game in Chicago 129-121 in triple overtime. The victory cut the Bulls lead in the series to 2-1.

The game was close throughout as the star players on both teams were fantastic.

Both teams failed to hit a shot at the end of regulation. At the end of the first overtime, Phoenix missed three shots that could have won the game for them. In the second overtime Dan Majerle hit a game-trying shot for the Suns just before time expired. He finished with 28 points. In the third overtime the Suns finally pulled away from the Bulls to earn the road victory.

Charles Barkley finished with 24 points and 19 rebounds. Kevin Johnson bounced back from a dreadful Game 2 and finished with 25 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. He played 62 minutes in the game.

Michael Jordan finished with 44 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Bulls. Scottie Pippen had 26 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Phoenix’s victory got them back in the series but the Bulls went on to win Game 4 and won the series in six games.

Jordan was named Finals MVP. He then left the NBA to play baseball in 1994.
