Domantas Sabonis continues to draw attention from multiple suitors, with the Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, and Phoenix Suns reportedly showing significant interest, Sam Amick of The Athletic reported Friday.
The 29-year-old big man is under contract through 2027-28, with $94 million owed over the next two seasons, limiting his trade market due to the financial commitment required.
Amick notes that Sabonis has expressed patience regarding his future, signaling a willingness to remain in Sacramento if the right deal does not materialize.
Through 11 starts this season, Sabonis is averaging 17.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists over 33.2 minutes per game, providing elite rim protection and versatile scoring from the high post.
The Wizards, 3–19 in the Eastern Conference, would gain a veteran presence capable of anchoring their frontcourt and complementing Khris Middleton and CJ McCollum’s perimeter scoring.
Chicago, 9–14, could integrate Sabonis alongside Nikola Vucevic to strengthen pick-and-roll efficiency and interior defense while improving rebounding in a competitive Eastern playoff push.
Phoenix, 14–11, benefits from Sabonis’ ability to space the floor and facilitate offense from the high post, offering a veteran complement to Devin Booker, Jalen Green, and Dillon Brooks.
While Sabonis’ production and skill set make him an attractive trade target, his salary demands and the Kings’ preference to retain their star complicate potential transactions.
Sacramento, 6–19, is in a rebuilding phase, and any deal would require careful consideration of draft assets and young talent to offset Sabonis’ contract and maintain long-term flexibility.
