The Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns face significant roster challenges ahead of Thursday’s matchup at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. Several key players from both teams are sidelined due to injuries, which could influence rotations and game strategies.

For the Bulls, Zach Collins, Noa Essengue, Jaden Ivey, and Anfernee Simons are all confirmed out. Doubtful statuses apply to Jalen Smith and Patrick Williams, while Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey are listed as questionable. Buzelis has a right ankle sprain, and Giddey also manages a right ankle issue. Smith is recovering from a right calf strain, and Williams is dealing with a right quadricep strain.

Chicago’s recent performances have been uneven, including a 120-97 home win over the Milwaukee Bucks on March 1, followed by a 108-116 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 3. The team currently holds a 25-37 record, sitting 12th in the Eastern Conference and struggling with a 1-9 record over the last ten games.

Phoenix faces its own setbacks with Dillon Brooks, Jordan Goodwin, and Mark Williams all sidelined. Brooks has a left hand fracture, Goodwin a left calf strain, and Williams is experiencing left foot soreness.

The Suns have won their last two games, defeating the Sacramento Kings 114-103 on March 3 and edging the Los Angeles Lakers 113-110 on February 26. Phoenix holds a 35-26 record, seventh in the Western Conference, with a 4-6 mark in their last ten outings.

Individually, Devin Booker continues to lead the Suns, averaging 24.6 points and 6.1 assists per game. Mark Williams has been a key contributor in the paint with 8.1 rebounds per contest. Chicago’s Matas Buzelis leads his team with 15.3 points per game, while Josh Giddey averages 17.7 points and 8.2 rebounds.

The matchup marks the first meeting between the Bulls and Suns this season.

Thursday’s 9:00 PM ET tip-off could hinge on bench production and the availability of key injured players.
