Chicago Bulls snapped a three-game skid with a 105-103 road win over the Phoenix Suns Thursday at Mortgage Matchup Center. Collin Sexton led the way with 30 points, while Tre Jones added 21 and Guerschon Yabusele contributed 16.
The Bulls overcame the absence of Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey, both sidelined with ankle injuries from Tuesday’s home loss to Oklahoma City. Chicago trailed by 12 with under six minutes remaining but held off a late Phoenix rally.
Devin Booker scored 27 points in his second game back from a right hip injury, while Grayson Allen added 21 for the Suns. Jalen Green struggled from deep, hitting just 1 of 8 three-point attempts in a 12-point effort.
Down 104-103 with 23 seconds left, Booker’s three-pointer brought Phoenix within one. Jalen Green missed a running layup on the following possession, and Nick Richards made one of two free throws with 4.1 seconds left, allowing Chicago to secure the narrow victory.
The Bulls shot 48% from the field and 25% from three-point range while forcing 9 turnovers and recording 23 assists. Phoenix finished at 39% overall and 28% from deep, despite pulling within striking distance late in the fourth quarter.
Chicago’s win improves their record to 26-37, giving them their second victory in three games following an 11-game losing streak. The Suns, 35-27, remain seventh in the Western Conference and are without Dillon Brooks due to a fractured left hand.
Chicago will continue their five-game road trip at Sacramento Kings on Saturday, while Phoenix hosts the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.
