When the NBA season is resumed, the question of who deserves to be the MVP will arise again. Former Lakers guard Kareem Rush thinks LeBron James should be named the MVP over Giannis Antetokounmpo for what he is doing in his 17 career season. Although he admits that The Greek Freak is also doing amazing things this year.

Per Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson of Heavy:

“No discredit to Giannis but just the fact that LeBron is doing this in Year 17 leading the League in assists is impressive. If either one got it, I can understand why. What Giannis was doing this year is crazy. He’s putting up better numbers this year from last year but he is in the East which I think is a little weaker, and it’s more a nod and a tip of cap to what LeBron’s doing.”

James is averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 10.6 assists per game for Los Angeles this season. The Lakers are sitting atop the Western Conference with 49-14 record.

Meanwhile, Giannis is 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game for the Bucks who have the best record in the league – 53-12.
