Bulgaria (U18)Bulgaria – Montenegro and Sweden – Denmark are the semifinals that will determine the two teams that will clinch promotion to Division A. Yesterday Bulgaria remained unbeaten, after defeating Denmark 72:81, while Montenegro won 58:78 against Israel and sealed the second spot in Group F.

The host side Bulgaria achieved their fifth straight win, after beating Denmark last night. The key figure for Lubomir Minchev’s team was Rimini’s forward Dimitar Dimitrov. In 27 minutes of play he scored 28 points, shooting 6/6 from long range and also grabbed 12 rebounds. Pavlin Ivanov added 17 points, and Nikolay Stoyanov had 13. Esben Reinholt scored 18 for Denmark.

In the other game from Group E Hungary didn’t have any trouble beating Estona 75:53. However Bulgaria and Denmark advanced to the semis.

In Group F Montenegro won 58:78 against Israel, and threw them out of the semifinals. Marko Mugosa had 32 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists, while Nikola Ivanovic added 16 points, 8 boards and 4 assists. Noam Laish scored 17 for Israel in their loss.

Sweden defeated Netherlands by 25 points – 68:43 in order to seal the first spot in Group F.

The semifinals will be played on Saturday, as Bulgaria will face Montenegro at 18.15 local time, while Sweden and Denmark will play at 20.30
