San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Ettore Messina praised the EuroLeague and its high level of competition.

Here is what the Italian coach said in a interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca:

“I miss the competition, of course. I was very excited to see how an American head coach, like Rick Pitino, delivered himself totally directing Panathinaikos.

A Hall of Fame trainer, multimillionaire, with all the successes he has achieved. At the level of passion and interest, the EuroLeague is the second best only behind the NBA playoffs.

The EuroLeague is at a good moment. It is important, as an amateur and observer, that a new team will arrive at the end. Last year, it was Zalgiris Kaunas and this time Anadolu Efes. This gives hope that you can reach the Final Four not only by budget, but by playing well.”
