Nizhny Novgorod advanced to the quarter-finals of the Basketball Champions League, despite its loss to Venezia in Game 2 of the Round of 16 (84-66).

The Italians led by as many as 18 points, yet this wasn’t enough to give them the qualification to the quarter-finals.

The Russian team had defeated their opponents by 23 points in Game 1 (95-72) and won the series with a 161-156 aggregate score.

Stefano Tonut (26 points, four rebounds) and Mitchell Watt (15 points, 11 boards) were the best players of the winners.

On the other hand, Tadija Dragicevic led the losing squad with 21 points and eight rebounds, as Evgenii Baburin added 11 points.
