London City Royals have announced that former England and Great Britain point guard Junior Williams has been appointed as the team’s head coach.

Williams, who played for the London Towers, London United, Glasgow Rocks and Milton Keynes during his professional career, now has to do his best to create a decent roster, as the Royals are getting ready for their debut in the British Basketball League.

“We aim to build the club and the Royals brand with an exciting style of basketball – something that the young players across the London community will enjoy and want to emulate,” said Williams.

The Royals’ new head coach has previous BBL coaching experience, having worked as an assistant coach at London Lions. However, this is the first time he becomes the head coach of a top-tier club.
